Did you read the title of this post and assume it was a typo? You can relax.  A dera is basically a large dress that comes in different styles and is worn in a number of African cultures.
I bought mine three years ago but never had the chance to wear it because I could not find an appropriate occasion. This passed Sunday the opportunity to wear it presented itself in form of my young cousin's Holy communion and family lunch thereafter.
There are several reasons why you should own at least one of these. First being they are super comfortable, they are versatile enough to either be dressed up or down and they are free size among other things.








I love my dera because of the details, the
texture, embroidery and it has pockets!!!
